Rigs vs. Racks: What is the difference?

One of the most common questions that we receive from our customers is what is the difference between rigs and racks. That’s why we decided to write a blog post to help you differentiate between this piece of equipment and to help you choose the one that is perfect for you.

Racks usually have just one squat station. Rigs are modular, which means you can add as many stations as you need. Both can be either wall-mounted or free-standing.

Rigs have column heights of 450 cm, 360 cm, or 275 cm. Racks column height starts at 275 cm or lower.

Racks

Rack is your training station. You can choose between squat racks, power racks, or half racks, depending on your needs. Every KingsBox rack comes with a pair of J-cups.

Mighty, Royal, and Home series

We have three different product lines of racks – Mighty, Royal and Home. All three are made from the same quality material, the main difference is in the dimension of the steel profiles.

Mighty series:

The Mighty series is made from 80X80X3 mm profiles and is designed to be our top-tier, maxed-out option for high-performance strength training. All Mighty uprights have holes with laser-cut number markings, so you can quickly adjust the height of J cups, Angel arms, and 40 other Mighty accessories compatible with this series

Royal series:

Our more economical series is the Royal series, made from 60X60X3 mm profiles. This series is suitable for those who want a more budget-friendly solution but do not want to lose any functionality and quality. With number markings on every 5th hole, you can easily remember the perfect height for your back squats or bench press from the last training. This series is compatible with more than 20 different accessories such as Dip Bars, Angel Arms, Startup bars…

Home series:

The third series is the Home Series made from 50X50X3mm profiles, available for racks only. This series is perfect forhome gym owners. With the user’s budget in mind, we kept the design simple and rather focused on functionality and quality.

What does that really mean? Versatility.

You could have a tiny 4’ wall-mounted rig, you could have a 24’ self-standing rig in the middle of your space, or anything in between.
