If we go back to about 10 to 20 years ago, the typical gym had a Leg press, Butterfly machine, Bench, Dumbbells, a simple 28 mm barbell, some plates, and many different cable pulley options.
Since then, a lot has changed, but some things remained the same.
The modern gym usually has classical gym equipment, but nowadays, two things are getting more and more popular: a rack or rig for free weight training and a lot of free space for body weight functional training sessions.
The concept of the classic gym is changing.
As demand grows fast, the classic gym concept is shifting from only having machines, to gyms that have 50 % of the gym equipped with machines and 50 % of the gym with functional equipment. In this case, many gym owners are left with one question.
»How can I combine the Classical gym concept with a functional one if I don’t have enough space for all the equipment?«
The answer is simple.
Ask your clients.
By asking your clients which machines they like and which ones are not often in use, you are not only gaining a great feedback about the machines, but your clients will also appreciate that you care about them, and you care for their needs. We strongly suggest that you ask them if there is some equipment that they miss in the gym.
Once you made a list of machines that are highly used and the ones that are not, we recommend that you sell the unused ones on Facebook. You simply take a photo of the products and write the desired price.
We strongly suggest that you upload as many photos as possible so you will get fewer questions about the condition of the product. If your equipment is for example 4-5 years old and in good shape, you can probably sell it for almost the same price as you bought it because the cost of steel has raised to the point, that also the price of second-hand is much higher.
From our experience, we can say with 90% certainty that on the list of the most used machine is the Stack Pulley system. This is awesome equipment because the stack pulleys don’t need a lot of maintenance, and you can perform an incredible number of different exercises with them. The only negative part of them is that they take up a lot of space. With modern gyms, you need to optimize every centimeter of the gym, and that might be a problem with stack pulleys.
Our engineers at KingsBox thought about this, and they came up with great solutions.
Solution number 1; pulley tower
The Pulley tower is a great Pulley System that lets you choose between Row, Lat pull-down, Adjustable, and Fixed Pulley stations. You also have the freedom to match the color of the pulley to your gym style and customize all the pillows with the logo of your gym. The pulley tower is 100% made in Europe. Why is this good? Because you will have to buy it once, and never again.
Solution number 2; rack with a pulley system
When you are renovating an old-school gym you will most probably need a Rig or at least a rack. That’s why a Rack with pulley system is a great option for all the gyms that have only 2 square meters dedicated for a Rack and Pulley together.
Solution number 3; save 60 % of the space with a wall pulley
Use your walls. 90% of the time the walls are empty, and is so unfortunate that they are not used to attach a Pulley station to them. You can save 60% of space with this solution.

Solution number 4; complete the rig with a pulley system
For those that have a bigger space available, you can combine a rack/rig with a complete pulley system. This a great way to make your gym irresistible in your customer’s eyes.
