Do you know that feeling when you meet someone for the first time and it just clicks? That’s exactly what happened when the future owners of the STOKED community met the KingsBox team. Over two years, both teams collaborated closely to design the perfect solution for their modern and central functional gym in Amsterdam, which highlights a premium yet family-friendly vibe.
Now that the gym is finally open, let’s take a look at the stages we went through during the project, and which equipment did they choose.
Setting the Foundation: The First Meeting at the FIBO Fair
We first connected with Brenda and Jay at the FIBO fair, where they were impressed with our out-of-the-box gym equipment solutions and color customization options. This initial meeting set the stage for an exciting collaboration.
Planning the Project with KingsBox Specialists
From the first meeting, the KingsBox team, led by Katarina and Iztok, became a second pair of eyes for Jay and Brenda. Our team offered valuable advice on layout, suggested changes to the equipment, and proposed unique ideas to bring their dream functional gym to life. After many meetings and several renders, the gym was confirmed with a custom pistachio-colored rig.
Custom Equipment Solutions for a Unique Gym
With the help of an experienced KingsBox designer, we created several space renders that captured the STOKED community spirit. One floor features a custom pistachio rig and custom ceiling hangers for climbing ropes. The second floor has an authentic design, with 2 power racks, plate-loaded pulleys, and platforms, providing a complete training station for the open gym.
Overcoming Challenges with Determination
The Stoked team faced numerous challenges while preparing their space. Initially set to receive their keys in November 2022, they finally got them in September 2023. Despite this delay, they never hesitated to continue with the project.
Finally: the opening day!
Finally, in September 2023, the owners got the key to the place, finalized the last details, installed all the equipment, and got it ready for the opening. The KingsBox team used an opportunity to visit the place before and after the assembly, connecting even more with the owners, and getting involved even more in their story.
