KingsBox’s First Big Project – The Outdoor Rig

Only a year into the business, a client came to us with a request that seemed almost impossible: to build a rig for outdoor use. At the time, KingsBox was just two guys fresh out of college, learning how to build a business and produce products as they went. We had never done anything like it before and it was a huge test.

But instead of stepping back, we leaned in. We trusted our instincts. And the day we delivered that rig, we proved to ourselves, and to our clients, what KingsBox was truly capable of.

That single project gave us confidence and became a stepping stone toward the larger, more complex projects that would follow.

Tailored for You – Full Customization and Made-to-Measure Solutions

Selling our first rig soon grew into outfitting entire gyms. Over the years, we’ve equipped more than 800 gyms across Europe. From small boutique studios to massive training facilities and even collaborations with major fitness chains.

Every client is unique. Some want bold colors and custom branding, others need clever solutions for tight spaces, and many ask for fully custom-built structures to fit their training needs. No two projects are the same—and that’s what makes our work so exciting.

Our decision to manufacture in Europe gave us the flexibility to offer a wide range of customization options. The first sign of this demand came when the owners of Reflecto Upside asked us to deliver their rig in a special violet color that wasn’t part of our standard color palette at the time. We said yes and from that moment on, customization became a core part of who we are.

Soon after, another client wanted a personalized nameplate on their rig. Until then, we only offered our standard KingsBox logo. We delivered, and today, custom logos or mottos are a standard feature for our Royal clients. Since then, customization has expanded across our product line: from weightlifting platforms to bench and machine upholstery, even sprint tracks, all proudly carrying the identity of our clients’ gyms.

Thanks to our in-house design team, we can take on complex, tailor-made projects. Whether that’s non-standard pull-up bar lengths or creating a rig shaped like a church tower. Our goal is simple: we want every customer to feel that their gym is as unique as the people who train there.

Providing the full package, installation included

Another major step forward came when CrossFit Clawhammer trusted us not only to supply equipment, but also to handle the entire installation. This was our opportunity to prove that KingsBox offers the full package: design, production, delivery, and professional installation.

A fun fact: during that very first assembly, both of our CEOs joined the installation team. At the time, KingsBox already had more than 20 employees who could have done the job, but they wanted to be there themselves, making sure everything went smoothly and giving their all alongside the rest of the team.

Today, things have evolved. We now have a dedicated assembly team that travels across Europe, setting up around 50 gyms every year—big and small.

From equipping that first Competition in Italy to travelling all across Europe

Competitions hold a special place in our hearts. Back in 2016, we nervously supplied equipment for a few events in Italy. Questions raced through our minda… Did we ship everything? Would the rig meet their standards? Would athletes love our equipment? We came through and the enthusiasm from everyone involved confirmed we were on the right track.

With your feedback in hand and a deep dive into research, he quickly realized that while the classic standing T-bar row is a gym staple, it also comes with some frustrating limitations.

His goal? To design a machine that would activate the same target muscles—the upper and middle back—while solving the most common issues users face with traditional row machines:

How We Developed the Weightlifting KingsBox SVR Platform

Most weightlifting platforms, especially cheaper ones, use only a single layer of rubber tiles. In contrast, our SVR platforms weight lifting platform features multiple layers of cushioning materials which includes two layers for the SVR Platform and three layers for the SVR Elite Platform.

These layers not only protect gym floors but also significantly reduce noise and vibrations so others in the gym can workout with no distractions and the weightlifters do not have to be self conscious.

Extensive Testing and Material Selection

Our research and development team tested over 80 different combinations of materials to find the perfect mix. Here’s how we performed the whole testing phase:

1.   Narrowing Down Options

We reduced the selection from 80 to 45 combinations, focusing on those that provided the best barbell bounce without the barbell sinking too much into the surface. This process was critical in ensuring the platform would meet the rigorous demands of weightlifting, powerlifting, and Olympic lifting.

2.   Laboratory Testing

At the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Ljubljana, we analyzed the Shock Response Spectrum (SRS) graphs for each combination. This helped us identify which materials absorbed vibrations best. The precision required in this phase ensured that our weightlifting platforms would provide the optimal balance between cushioning and firmness, essential for powerlifting and Olympic weightlifting.

3.   Durability Testing

After selecting the best combination, we conducted durability tests both in the lab and with a top European cross-training athlete. These tests simulated the high-impact conditions typical in weightlifting and powerlifting. At the end, combination number 39 was the best, and it’s now used in our SVR Elite Platform. This ensures that our platforms can withstand the heavy loads and repeated use common in weightlifting and powerlifting environments.

As the name of our MAD KING leg press suggests, we are faced with a truly cutting-edge type of professional training equipment.

Usually, each person has a dominant side of the body, for example, the right leg.

During the uplift, that dominant side suffers most of the load. This means that the dominant side becomes even stronger and
the difference between the two legs becomes even greater creating an imbalance in turn.

That’s why we designed our futuristic leg press The Mad King, so that the plates can be pushed at the same time with both legs or can be separated and the athlete can train each leg individually.

When we designed our Crazy Queen leg extension we wanted to keep our industrial style, so we made this 80mm x 80mm gym training machine with our famous carvings, trademark for all our equipment.

The idea was to make sure that the design of our leg extension matches the rest of your current or future gym equipment.

THE MAD BAR

Our brand new Olympic barbell Mad Bar meets all weight lifting standards, with which we wanted to offer the highest quality at a competitive price.

The bar is made of durable steel (180,000 PSI) and is coated with gray Cerakote coating for the best possible protection against external factors.

The needle bearings have been replaced with sliding ones, which are of high quality, but represent a more advantageous solution for your portfolio and guarantee a longer life of the barbell.

Even the sleeves have a slightly different shape than other Olympic barbells, as the dividing part between the sleeves and the central part of the bar has a more triangular shape so that the bar (discharge) does not roll off.

THE MAD HYDRA

Recently, we have noticed that pulley systems are becoming more and more popular.

Of course, we follow trends and want to offer a wide range of variants for each product.

This is why we made the Mad Hydra, which is available in three versions.

All three versions have on one column a pulley adjustable in height, with which you can perform traction exercises in neutral position, while on the other column we have prepared a fixed pulley.

The carabiner with the handle attachment can be fixed at the top (for traction exercises) or at the bottom (for squats, rowing simulations, etc.). All three versions also have a pull up bar as a link, on which you can perform all the exercises on the bar.

The difference between the three versions is hidden in the back columns. The first of the three variants includes shelves for storing sports equipment. You already know how important it is for us to keep the gym in order.

We are convinced that storing the equipment can prolong its life and prevent unnecessary damage. The second variant features two Facemount PU bars mounted on the back.

In this way, the number of workstations increases and more people can be trained at the same time. The third variant we wanted to dedicate it to those who would like to strengthen the muscles of the arms and back, preparing a Multigrip bar on it.

HYDRA PULLEY STATION

By combining 2 Cable Crossover Kits (CPS) into one pulley station, we created The Hydra Pulley Station.

Joined by a pull-up bar on the front where you can train with chin-ups, and a KingsBox table between the rear columns.

Pulley systems offer the possibility to train different types of pull, row, belt squat and much more.

In addition you will have the possibility to choose between two different variants of pulley system.

The first is the basic version – static and allows you to attach the handles at the top (for lat pull) or at the bottom (for belt squats and row).

If we notice a new trend, you can be sure that soon we will offer you our version of the product, which will be functional and high quality. Recently, we noticed that the use of pulley systems was spreading and of course now we present our version.

KB Cable Cross Over has, on one column, a pulley adjustable in height with which it is possible to perform traction exercises in neutral position, while on the other column has a fixed pulley. The carabiner with the handle attachment can be fixed at the top (for traction exercises) or at the bottom (for squats, rowing simulations, etc.).

The tool can thus be used by two people simultaneously (each on a column). The athlete can fix the attacks below or above, strengthening entire muscle groups or focusing the training on a specific muscle. Basically, this is a multifunctional and flexible device, on which it is possible to train the whole body.

MIGHTY SPS

MIGHTY SPS- Base is the first patented KingsBox product, but we are sure it will not be the last.

When we were designing the product, we first looked at the basic squat exercise and looked for solutions on how to raise it to a new level.

Performing squats activates the muscles of the buttocks and the muscles of the thighs. Adding weight to your squats will also stimulate your core muscles. Usually you can load weight on a barbell to perform back squats or tie weights to the waist to make weightless belt squats.

Our Squat Pulley System allows you to perform squat exercises using the principle of continuous tension. On the low pulley you can attach the belt for the squats or the row handle and simulate the rowing. There is also a top pulley designed for upper body exercises such as lat pulldown.

Currently there are many different products on the market with pulley solutions. But ours is different because it requires much less space and at the same time offers much more functionality. MIGHTY LAT PULL-DOWN CROSSOVER MACHINE

With the aim of increasing the pectoral usually immediately we think of the bench press exercises. But in the long run doing only exercises on the bench, these will not repay, indeed it may happen the opposite.

What applies to the other muscle groups also applies to the pectoral muscles: they must be built with a wide range of exercises, performed with different angles and with different tools. Leg Extension

One of the most appreciated exercises by gym goers around the world.

Leg extension exercises or how it translates into Italian leg extension add strength to hip flexion and train quadriceps.

Obviously there are different exercises for quadriceps like lunges, squats and deadlifts. But all these exercises do not isolate the quadriceps muscle effectively as an extension of the leg.

Another exercise called reverse leg extension works opposite to quadriceps and strengthens back muscles.

Trained muscles

The muscles that are trained with leg extensions are the quadriceps, the largest muscle group in the anterior region of the thigh. To be more precise, they are open-chain kinetic exercises, which means that in addition to the quadriceps, the leg is also activated.

Leg extensions are an effective training for the lower body that will strengthen the patellar ligament of the knees and the attacks of the quadriceps. It focuses more on strengthening the quadriceps than any other muscle in the body.

Advantages of the exercise

Leg extensions are an isolation technique for quadriceps and can be performed after compound exercises such as deadlifts and squats. Such exercises will selectively restrain the muscles, unlike other leg exercises in which many muscles train, dispersing much less energy.
