Dumbbell handles can be used for a wide range of exercises. They were developed with the desire to cause muscle mass hypertrophy. The handles of the dumbbell weights are hung on the dumbbells, thus lowering the center of gravity. This changes the principle/method of contraction when pulling and improves the isolation of individual muscle groups that we want to strengthen.
