Flywheel training is different from regular weightlifting because instead of changing weights, you control how much resistance there is by how fast you pull. The faster you pull, the more resistance there is.
The principle of operation is based on a flywheel – a thin metal disc which, because of its physical properties, makes it difficult for the user to get it into rotation. This resistance to movement, known as inertia, makes the exercise feel tougher for the user.
